In 2001, the Fast & Furious made its debut and was then followed by seven sequels and two short films. Dominic Toretto, the main character in the movie, loves the adrenaline rush he gets from street car racing and gets treated like a rockstar by all of his fans.

After he meets a ruthless man named Johnny Tran, Dominic convinces Brian, a newbie at street racing to race with him. Dominic didn’t realize that Brian is actually an undercover cop and becomes a suspect along with Johnny in a case that involves hijacking trucks and dirty money.

In the movie, there are three 1993 Honda Civic EJ1s that are driven by Dominic, his wife, Letty Ortiz, and Leon, a member of his crew. They initially appear when the three of these characters attempt to hijack a semi-truck when the movie begins. The Civics are last seen when Dominic and the rest of his crew make a failed attempt at hijacking another semi-truck. During this failed attempt, the engine of Dominic’s Civic gets blown by the trucker and Letty’s Civic completely flips over. Leon’s Civic is the only one out of the three Civics to survive.

The Civics used in the Fast & Furious are powered by a 1.8 VTEC engine and feature green neon underglow lights, Vader-Style body kits, and a ViS Racing Bomber GT body kit. It’s fair to say that the Civic lineup has improved since this 1993 model. On the 2017 Honda Civic, you can expect a base 2.0L four-cylinder engine and a variety of exciting convenience features including:

  • A backup camera
  • Steering wheel audio and cruise controls
  • Keyless entry
  • Heated mirrors
  • Satellite radio with real time traffic radio
  • Tire pressure monitoring
  • Stability control
